Communities of Innovation: Cyborganic and the Birth of Networked Social Media.
Based on 6 years of ethnographic field research in a San Francisco techno-commune, my doctoral dissertation examines the interplay of place, technology, and community in the growth of the Web industry and development of new genres and practices of media production and consumption. December, 2008.
