MentorClass: 365 Days

Vocabulary

Name Class

Active listening

Active listening means paying close attention to what someone is saying, without interrupting, so you can really understand them. For example, when your classmate shares their 365-day goal, you make eye contact and listen quietly until they finish speaking.

Goal

A goal is something you want to achieve or get better at, like a target you aim for. For example, a goal might be to finish a big project, improve in a sport, or learn to play a musical instrument over the next 365 days.

Mentor

A mentor is a person who guides and supports you as you work towards your goals, using their experience to help you. For example, a mentor could be a teacher who helps you with your studies or a sports coach who gives you advice on training.

Reflection

Reflection means thinking back on what you have learned or done, to understand it better and see how you can improve. For example, after writing your mentor letter, you reflect on what you wrote and how you felt about the process.

Values

Values are the important ideas or beliefs that guide your actions and decisions. For example, kindness is a value because it helps you decide how to treat others when setting goals or working with a mentor.
