AIA Healthiest Schools Competition Australia 2026  Resources | Cool.org

AIA Healthiest Schools Competition 2026

The AIA Healthiest Schools Competition encourages Australian primary and secondary schools to make their school healthier, happier, and more sustainable. All while being in the running to win big prizes!

Download curriculum-aligned resources that make entering this student-led, educator-supported competition a breeze!

Four (of the many) great reasons to enter

By participating in the AIA Healthiest Schools Competition, you'll:

🌏 Join schools all across Australia (and the world!) who are supporting their school communities to learn about healthy habits.
😄 See the positive impacts of students designing, implementing, and leading projects that matter to them.
💪 Strengthen your school community by uniting students, educators, and families in making your school a happier, healthier place to be.
🏆 Be in the running to win up to $150,000 AUD (approx. $ 100,000 USD) in prizes!

✨ Making entering easier! ✨

Step 1: Download supporting resources.

AIA understands the important role educators play in helping people develop healthy habits. They've designed useful (and Cool.org-approved) AIA Healthiest Schools Competition resources. Pro-tip: Download the action plan first! This will be your go-to in preparing to enter.

Step 2: Get designing!

The AIA Healthiest Schools Competition is designed to be student-led and educator-supported. How that looks is entirely up to your school. Each school can enter one project that helps its school community become happier, healthier, and more sustainable. Pro-tip: The primary and secondary toolkits are perfect for walking your students through the process of generating an idea and putting it into action.

Step 3: Enjoy the positive impact of your school's project.

Whether your students' project increases movement, strengthens belongings, or focuses on healthy eating, now is the time to see the project come to life! Pro-tip: Gather evidence to support your entry along the way. Photos, videos, quotes, data: all will come in handy for the final step.

Step 4: Complete your entry.

Entering is easy regardless of whether you're a planner who has been documenting your school's project since the beginning, or you're completing the entry form before the deadlines. 🔑 Register to join AIA Healthiest Schools. It's free and is key to entry. 📥 Download the entry form. 🖋️ Fill it in to share the impact of your school's project. 🔒 Submit it via the AIA Healthiest Schools Competition Portal. Entries are open now and close on 3 December 2026. T&Cs can be found on the AIA Healthiest Schools website.
