Lesson Summary
Students will explore the ethics of AI system design. They will identify the risks and benefits of AI systems and who is impacted. Students will conduct a risk assessment and identify various techniques to mitigate risk.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- understand how AI information ecosystems function and how design decisions influence trust and outcomes
- apply an ethical lens to evaluate the risks and benefits of AI tools.
Success criteria
Students can:
- assess an AI tool using ethical criteria such as fairness, transparency, privacy and impact
- justify improvements that support responsible and healthy AI use.
