Students will explore why Australia uses a mix of renewable and non-renewable energy sources to generate electricity. They will investigate how energy choices are shaped by available natural resources, sustainability considerations and the needs of communities. To apply their learning, students will analyse and represent data about Australia’s energy mix, identifying patterns and explaining how and why it changes over time.
