Reaction Rates and Lithium Battery Design

Students will investigate how lithium batteries work by exploring their key components and the chemical reactions that control energy release. They will examine how factors such as temperature and physical damage affect reaction rates and can lead to hazardous situations. Students will apply their understanding to identify safe use, storage and disposal practices, and design a safety information sticker to communicate how risks can be managed.
