Lesson Summary
Students will explore how emotions are expressed through verbal and non-verbal cues and how these cues can be interpreted differently. They will practise recognising others' emotional signals and develop skills in active listening and empathetic responses. Students will learn the difference between ‘fixing’ and supporting others, and how to respond appropriately in social situations. They will reflect on how empathy and emotional awareness can strengthen relationships, and improve how conflicts are managed.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- recognise verbal and non-verbal emotional cues in others
- understand that people express emotions differently.
Success criteria
Students can:
- practise empathetic listening and supportive responses
- reflect on how emotional awareness improves relationships.
