Lesson Summary
Students will identify how batteries are used for different functions in everyday classroom items by conducting a classroom audit. They will learn about safe and unsafe battery use and how people design services to manage the safe and sustainable disposal of batteries to protect people and the environment. Students will create simple awareness posters to help others make safe choices about battery use and disposal.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- identify that batteries are used in many everyday classroom items
- identify that people design services to manage the disposal of batteries safely and sustainably.
Success criteria
Students can:
- recognise safe and unsafe choices involving batteries
- create a simple message to help others know how and where batteries should be disposed of safely.
