Equip students to navigate climate information critically and communicate evidence-based solutions with this collection of lessons developed with UNICEF Australia and Blue Minds.
Students investigate how climate science is communicated by analysing common climate claims, identifying misinformation, and evaluating evidence. They then apply these skills in a Mock COP, where they work as youth delegates to investigate real climate solutions, develop recommendations, and negotiate a shared Youth Climate Statement.
By exploring the evidence behind climate action and experiencing the collaborative decision-making process of COP, students strengthen their critical thinking, media literacy, and communication skills while developing a deeper understanding of how global climate decisions are informed by science, negotiation, and cooperation.
These engaging lessons empower students to move beyond recognising misinformation towards confidently advocating for practical, evidence-based climate action.
