Help students discover how local action connects to global climate decision-making with this collection of lessons developed with UNICEF Australia and Blue Minds.

Students investigate the places that matter most to them and explore how communities can work together to protect people and nature. They then broaden their perspective by examining how countries collaborate through the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP), taking on the role of delegates in a Mock COP summit to explore different viewpoints and negotiate shared solutions.

Through collaborative learning, real-world case studies, and role play, students develop an understanding of how local action can influence global change, while building the communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills needed to participate in climate conversations.

These flexible lessons empower students to see that meaningful climate action starts in their own communities, but grows stronger when people work together across the world.
