You will be designing experiments to investigate how different materials used in beverage containers transfer heat. First, you will need to identify some questions to be investigated. Examples of questions that can be investigated are:

Which container chills its contents fastest in the fridge? Steel, aluminium or PET?
Which container is best to take jogging and will stay cooler longer?
Which is the better disposable cup for hot chocolate? Polystyrene or a cardboard based material?

Video advertisement about beverage containers

Your group will do a very short communication project.

You will produce a short advertisement about beverage containers. After writing a script, the advertisement will be videoed using a tablet or mobile phone. The theme of your advertisement will be chosen by the group. Examples of advertisements are:

Comparing different beverage containers
Promoting one kind of material by explaining why it is better than other kinds of material
Promoting recycling and choosing materials that can be recycled
Promoting better environmental choices using materials that have less impact
Promoting more use of reusable beverage containers.

The advertisement must be at least 30 seconds long but not longer than two minutes. Share your videos with the class and find out what your advertisements have in common and which ones stand out.
