Students explore belonging as a fundamental human need by engaging with the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people. They investigate the people, places and actions that help individuals feel accepted, respected and included. Students then apply their learning by evaluating their school environment and proposing practical actions to strengthen belonging for everyone.
Students will:
explore how belonging influences wellbeing and the experiences of LGBTQIA+ young people
evaluate how people, places and actions can strengthen belonging within school communities.
Students can:
identify the people, places and actions that contributed to belonging within a lived experience
analyse a lived experience by identifying a person's thoughts, feelings, actions and needs
propose a realistic action that could strengthen belonging within their school community.
