Students will explore how Like My Brother represents the experience of ‘walking in two worlds’. They will analyse how cinematic techniques and elements, particularly mise-en-scène, communicate ideas about identity, belonging, culture and navigating different expectations and environments. Students will then apply their understanding by creating a visual or scripted response that represents the challenges and strengths involved in balancing different worlds.
Students will:
explore how Like My Brother represents the experience of ‘walking in two worlds’
analyse how mise-en-scène and other CAMELS techniques communicate ideas about identity, belonging, culture and navigating different worlds.
Students can:
identify and explain how cinematic techniques are used in selected scenes to represent the experience of walking in two worlds
create a visual or scripted scene that communicates the challenges, strengths and connections involved in balancing different worlds.
