Lesson Summary
Students will explore how community-owned clean energy projects benefit First Nations communities. They consider how these projects are designed based on the challenges experienced by a community. Students create a plan for a clean energy hub within their own communities and share their ideas with an audience.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- envision what locally led, community-owned clean energy can look like
- apply scientific understanding and social awareness to a design challenge
- communicate ideas clearly to an audience using visual and oral formats.
Success criteria
Students can:
- design a realistic clean-energy concept grounded in community needs and values
- explain how First Nations leadership and collaboration strengthen outcomes
- present ideas confidently using appropriate visual and digital tools.
