Lesson Summary
Students will explore the need for every person in Australia to enjoy clean, reliable and affordable energy and how this relates to community and culture in First Nations communities. They explore how clean energy projects are benefiting First Nations communities and the role of community engagement and participation in their success. Students create cause-and-effect chains and posters to share their ideas.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- understand why the First Nations Clean Energy Network was founded
- recognise that scientific progress often relies on collaboration and shared knowledge
- explore how leadership and partnerships drive innovation in clean energy
Success criteria
Students can:
- explain why First Nations leadership is essential to clean-energy transitions
- identify examples of scientific collaboration between communities and experts
- communicate ideas clearly through a visual or digital product
