COP31 in the Classroom: Turning Global Climate Action into Local Learning
You don't need to travel to Türkiye to take part in COP31. Created with UNICEF Australia and Blue Minds, these curriculum-aligned HASS and Science lessons for Years 5 - 8 invite students to step into the role into youth delegates through their own Mock COP. Students will build climate literacy, critical thinking skills, and global citizenship through authentic, real-world learning.
Explore climate action through real-world learning
Packed with real-world case studies, videos, interactive investigations, and negotiation scenarios, these lessons help students experience how global climate decisions are made, with built-in support for navigating eco-anxiety along the way.
Through curriculum-aligned HASS and Science, students will analyse evidence from trusted experts including the CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology, and learn from inspiring youth-led climate initiatives like Seed Mob and Plastic Free Cronulla. They'll contribute to a national classroom bulletin board, develop evidence-based recommendations for climate solutions, and put their learning into practice through their own Mock COP.
