Lesson Summary
In this activity, children are asked to think about the noises of nature. Children of all age groups are asked to spend a few moments inside listening to the sounds of the indoors. They are then asked to go outside and lie on the ground, listening for noises in their yard and beyond. Children are asked to identify these noises and older children are asked to reflect upon what these noises may be telling us.
This activity is designed to help connect children to the wonders of the natural world through sensory and play-based learning.
