The theme for this year's competition is ‘What’s in a phone?’
Your students can get involved by creating an artwork or short film that shows what materials are in a phone and what they can become when they’re recycled.
You'll find all the resources you need below to support you in teaching about materials and to help prepare for entering the competition.
Young people are also encouraged to recycle a phone as part of their entry to amplify their impact.
Entries can be submitted as an individual, a group or on behalf of your whole class.
Entry is FREE and open to all primary and secondary students in Australia during 2024.
The 2024 MobileMuster School's Competition is open from 1 August - 1 November 2024.
You don’t have to be an experienced artist to take part in MobileMuster’s Schools Competition – all you need is an idea, imagination and motivation.
Students create a drawing, photograph or short film (60 seconds) encouraging their community to recycle their old mobile phones. Students create their artwork in any genre and style.
Entry is open to all primary and secondary students in Australia, including homeschoolers and remote learners.
MobileMuster is the product stewardship program of the mobile phone industry and is accredited by the federal government. It is voluntarily funded by all of the major handset manufacturers and network carriers to provide a free mobile phone recycling program in Australia to the highest environmental standard. The program is committed to raising awareness and educating the community on why it is important to recycle.
