About the Trailblazers film

Trailblazers is a Stan Original documentary that tells the amazing story of the fight for equality by Australia’s female footballers. Released in the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Trailblazers celebrates the rise of Australian women’s football, from the early days of paying to play in front of small crowds to appearing in sold-out stadiums and being watched by over 11 million people at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup - the largest recorded viewership in Australian television history.

About the resources

These teaching resources for HPE and English encompass essential concepts for students from Years 5 to 10. Students will explore the influence of role models on self-image, addresses the impact of unfair situations, and challenges gender stereotypes in sports. In addition, students will be asked to critically analyse media texts, identify literary devices, and understand the importance of being critical media consumers, fostering respect, and promoting inclusivity.
