Climate change is here to stay, and our students are increasingly worried about it. In this course we will explore strategies to support students experiencing climate anxiety, as well as ways to support parents, colleagues and ourselves.

You will learn:

  • about your role as a teacher in supporting students with climate anxiety
  • strategies to support students at different developmental stages (Junior Primary, Middle Primary, Upper Primary)
  • how to build a supportive school community.

Course time:

This course is expected to take between 30 to 45 minutes. Perfect for after work or during a spare period. You will have ongoing access via your user dashboard.

Course instructor

Elinor Hasenfratz is an educator with a particular focus on climate education and community resilience. She has led climate programs in schools across Victoria, emphasising not just climate science but fostering determined optimism in her students as well as leaning deeply into the creativity and possibility of climate solutions.

Elinor helps young people and the adults around them envision and explore potential futures in which we don’t just survive, but thrive.
