Course summary

Teaching can be as demanding as it is rewarding. In a role where the needs of others are continually put first, it can be hard to break that cycle outside of the classroom. This course gives you the space to carefully consider how you can best look after yourself, how much care you actually need and how to stand your ground and ask for it. The course will look at how to listen to your body and the output of your work to understand where your well-being is at and time management techniques and actually helpful resources to guide you through the improvement of your well-being as a teacher.

You will learn:

  • how to identify and respond to your needs whilst constantly managing others
  • strategies for managing teaching responsibilities, such as planning
  • strategies for managing time
  • ways to seek out and use resources for looking after your mental health.
