Course summary

Research indicates that children who have experienced trauma are more likely to experience mental health issues and/or struggle with learning, behaviour and building relationships in school. This course explores the nature of trauma, its impact on young people and their learning as well as providing strategies for teachers to ensure that their classrooms are safe places for young people who have experienced trauma.

You will learn:

  • how to define trauma
  • the impact of trauma on the student and their learning
  • trauma-informed teaching and learning
  • about intergenerational trauma and its impacts.

Course time:

About 30 to 45 minutes - perfect for after work or during a spare period. You will have ongoing access via your user dashboard.
