Lesson Summary
In this lesson, students will experience, witness and design acts of kindness and opportunities for human connection. They will connect with inspiring examples by viewing interviews from IMAGI-NATION{TV} and exploring how they demonstrate the AIME values. Students will critically reflect on what makes a ‘stranger’ and consider safe ways of reaching out to their communities.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- have an experience of kindness
- understand the value in human connection
- understand how and why people reach out in kindness
- explore how racial issues can impact on human connection.
Success criteria
Students can:
- identify values in a behaviour
- reflect on the role of race in human connection
- reflect on how people perceive and engage with strangers
- plan an act of kindness.
