Lesson Summary
Students will complete a Readiness Plan and Survival Kit. They will gain insight into what planning goes into keeping a home and community safe and understand that by making decisions earlier, uncertainty is one factor they will not have to experience in an emergency.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- learn about the causes and danger of bushfires OR floods
- learn about preventative planning and its importance to families and communities
- understand the reasons for having a clear, written process and plan for a natural disaster.
Success criteria
Students can:
- describe the causes and dangers of bushfires OR floods
- undertake preventative planning for a natural disaster.
