Lesson Summary

Students will explore how personal and group achievements can be celebrated by role-playing various ways to acknowledge both wins and losses in a way that demonstrates good sportsmanship. They will discuss the concept of sportsmanship to help guide their responses, and develop their understanding by studying different events and ways people celebrate victory at the Commonwealth Games.

Learning intentions

Students will:

look at the celebrations of the Commonwealth Games over time
explore respectful approaches to celebrating.

Students can:

demonstrate supportive ways to celebrate competitive sports and activities.
