This resource package for Years 5 & 6, Exploring Energy, Food & Transport, has been designed to:
- immerse students in the documentary film 2040 through engaging with topics of transport, food and energy
- help students understand key environmental challenges facing our world today
- explore existing solutions to environmental problems related to transport, food and energy systems
- encourage critical and creative thinking about sustainable futures
- empower students to take positive action in their communities through collaborative social projects
- develop research, communication and presentation skills through hands-on activities
- foster an understanding that young people can be active participants in creating a better future
Through exploring transport options, food systems, energy sources and social action projects, students will gain valuable knowledge about sustainability while developing essential research, collaboration and creative problem-solving skills that will empower them to become environmentally conscious citizens.
