This unit provides lessons for students to critically investigate the role of contemporary zoos. Students will explore the big questions and issues relating to animal welfare, ethics, and zoos, before analyzing the practices of zoos both nationally and internationally. The lessons also include a factsheet to empower students to plan their own trip to the zoo and engage in their own learning during the excursion.
