Meet the team
Josh Cubillo PhD is a Larrakia, Wadjigan and Arrernte man from the Northern Territory, with extensive experience in secondary and tertiary education.
Starting as a history teacher who wanted Indigenous content taught in schools, Josh has continued his commitment to embedding Indigenous knowledge in the education sector through his project management roles with non-government organisations and the University of Melbourne.
The doctoral thesis Josh completed was called Unveiling Country and Improving Culturally Responsive Pedagogy: The Traditional Owner Approach, which examined how non-Indigenous teachers can strengthen their relationships with Wurundjeri Traditional Owners in order to embed Indigenous knowledge.
Kirsten is a former Primary classroom teacher, curriculum area leader, marketing aficionado, and all-around curious person. She's also your 2024 Workshop Facilitator.
Kirsten is passionate about designing engaging learning opportunities that meet the needs of and challenge all students, building strong relationships in the classroom and school community and ensuring educators across Australia are supported, valued and celebrated for the many things they do.
