Caring for Country: Acknowledgement of Country for Kids

EYLF Learning Outcomes:

4.4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials

• photos of features and places in your local area, such as the shops, park, beach, your centre – ensure you have at least one image of a natural feature at your centre (e.g. the big tree in the backyard of your centre, or a garden, or a grassy area, or a collection of rocks or logs)
• you will need to have prepared an Acknowledgement of Country to practice with your children. If you haven’t already prepared one, you can find out how to do this by completing this activity – you will need 30 to 40 minutes to complete this activity.

This activity is designed to give you an understanding of how to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into activities at your centre and to help you build your confidence in exploring this topic with children and families.
