Course summary

There is a broad range of evidence that suggests that students who have well developed social and emotional intelligence (or learning) are better equipped to manage the ups and downs of everyday life. Where once these skills were assumed to be learnt in the home or the community, educators now realise that these skills can, and should, be taught in schools and the Australian Curriculum incorporates this content into the Personal and Social capability.

You will learn:

  • to identify social and emotional skills and why they’re important
  • the applicable parts of the Australian Curriculum, General Capability - Personal and Social capability
  • how to implement a whole school approach to social and emotional development
  • teaching strategies that support the social and emotional development of your secondary students.

About 30 to 45 minutes - perfect for after work or during a spare period. You will have ongoing access via your user dashboard.
