Course Summary

Learning and succeeding in school requires active engagement, however, there are many reasons why students can become disengaged from learning. Prevention is always better than cure, but there is hope and students can be reconnected to school, particularly when the school / teacher, is prepared to understand their situation and make adjustments so they feel safe and valued.

You will learn:

  • Underlying causes of disengagement
  • Preventative strategies – inclusive classrooms/school, knowing and respecting your students, engaging learning, use of technology 
  • Re-engagement strategies - individualised program, student autonomy, effective communication, partnership with parents/caregivers, student and school

Course time:

About 30 to 45 minutes - perfect for after work or during a spare period. You will have ongoing access via your user dashboard.
