Lesson summary

Students develop a plan for taking action around a real-world issue presented in the Global Problem Solvers series. After reviewing prior knowledge, students discuss the value of creating a plan in bringing an idea to life. Focusing on the solution created for the GPS series, students work collaboratively to create a plan for action, including defining the problem and their solution, creating a mind-map to list the materials and equipment needed, identifying challenges and solutions, and prioritising outcomes in preparation for evaluation. Students then communicate their plan with peers and provide feedback.

  • recognise some of the steps that can be used when planning a project

Success criteria:

Students can...

  • work collaboratively
  • participate in group discussions
  • create a mind-map
  • justify decision making
  • create a communication piece
