Lesson summary

Students will work in groups to develop their own television advertisement to promote healthy habits to their school community. They will consider practical tools to implement healthy habits into their lives and reflect on their current habits to establish positive changes.

  • investigate and apply persuasive strategies used in advertising to devise their own health promotion.

Success criteria:

Students can...

  • evaluate the effectiveness of current advertising for healthy habits in media forms such as television and social media
  • create an advertisement with a specific target audience to promote a healthy habit
  • evaluate the effectiveness of health messaging developed by their peers and identify the messages they want to apply to their own lives.
