Lesson Summary
In this lesson, students design a dream car and create an artwork to represent their ideas that will be submitted to the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. This contest encourages and inspires creative expression and imagination in students – some amazing ideas are born from dreams! Students analyse the visual representations of their favourite artworks and compare their artwork to another artwork. They then select a message that is important to them and plan and create a dream car artwork that incorporates this message and that is in the style of one of the two artworks they analysed.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- understand how artists realise their ideas through different visual representations
- understand how artists communicate a message through art
- develop and practise art-making techniques
Success criteria
Students can:
- use and apply appropriate visual language and visual conventions
- work collaboratively
