Cool burning (also known as cultural burning or fire stick farming), has been used by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for thousands of years to manage Country. In recent years, western science has taken an interest in this practice as a tool for managing landscapes, including reducing fuel loads and regenerating habitats.
