This lesson plan, developed in partnership with the AFLW, celebrates the advancement of women in sport and promotes equal opportunities for all people. Designed to provide practice for the Australian Curriculum's compulsory NAPLAN testing scheme, this lesson focuses on persuasive writing and explores the use of rhetorical devices to influence an audience. Students will analyze the impact of the introduction of the AFL Women's competition on Australian society, explore the personal narratives of marquee players, and develop their own persuasive writing pieces.
