Biodiversity Warriors
Year 5-6 Science and Geography students are invited to step into the shoes of Biodiversity Warriors in this action-packed unit. Students will explore the incredible ways living things adapt to survive in human environments, investigate local plants and animals, and uncover the challenges that threaten their survival.
Through hands-on activities, students will learn about the people and organisations working to protect biodiversity in their community. They will then harness their newfound knowledge to tackle local environmental challenges, designing innovative solutions to help real-world conservation efforts thrive.
By the end of this unit, students will not only understand the complex relationships between people, plants, and animals but also feel inspired and equipped to make a positive impact in their own environment.
This unit was created in collaboration with The Biodiversity Council. Special thanks to our content partner, The Conversation and to Purves Environmental Trust for their generous financial support.
