This unit, developed in collaboration with the Everick Foundation and consultation with the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation, offers students a rich exploration of Australia’s Deep Time History through the lens of archaeology. Perfect for teaching the significance of preserving heritage, it highlights the vital role of working with Traditional Custodians to protect and celebrate cultural heritage.

Through eight engaging lessons, students will investigate First Nations cultural artefacts, delve into the stories they tell, deepen their understanding of land management, and appreciate the value of collaboration in preserving Australia’s ancient history. This unit fosters a deeper understanding of cultural heritage and the shared responsibility of safeguarding it for future generations.

Cool.org and the Everick Foundation are grateful to the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation for sharing their cultural knowledge, heritage, and perspectives on these resources.
