Students will learn about the Australasian Recycling Labels and their purpose, the environmental benefits of recycling mobile phones and printer cartridges, and the recycling loop for various products. They will also explore the difference between renewable and non-renewable resources, conduct surveys on waste management, and develop plans for improving waste management systems. Throughout the unit, students will engage in a range of activities including physical games, memory games, informative and persuasive writing tasks, creative writing tasks, dance and mime performances, and video creation tasks. The unit is designed for students in years 3 and 4 and meets selected Australian Curriculum outcomes for the subject of Design and Technologies.
