Understanding Climate Change

This unit empowers Foundation to Year 2 students to actively participate in Earth Hour by enhancing their understanding of climate change. Through various interactive and hands-on activities, students will examine the challenges of climate change and its impact on the environment and biodiversity in Australia and globally. They will explore strategies to mitigate climate change and learn to take positive actions within their schools, homes and communities. 

Earth Hour is a WWF-Australia initiative and the world’s largest community-driven climate change campaign. At its centre, lights are switched off to show a commitment to action. Thousands of teachers use Earth Hour’s education program to enrich their curriculum and provide pathways for young people to create change in their world.
