Lesson summary
Children investigate colour by looking at rainbows. Younger children will observe a rainbow created in their room. Older children are invited to paint or draw a rainbow of their own and then head out into the yard at their service to look for materials from nature that match the colours of their rainbow.

- This activity is designed to help connect children to the wonders of the natural world through sensory and play-based learning.

Ages 0 to 2:
- Some white wall or poster-sized white paper stuck to the wall
- Recycled CD
- Sunlight or a torch
- A4 paper (optional)
Ages 3 to 5:
- Paper
- A range of art tools such as Jumbo Colour Pencils, Connector Paint Box, Jumbo Wax Crayons, Playsafe Broad Tip Colour Markers and Jumbo Connector Pens.
- Glue or sticky tape
