Video summary

Biodiversity is everywhere. A teaspoon of salt water can contain more than a million
living creatures that we cannot see without a powerful microscope. Grab a handful of soil, and you may be holding hundreds of thousands of species.
In Australia, it is estimated that we have around 700,000 species. So far, scientists
have managed to identify and describe about 200,000 of these. We still have a long way to go!
