Lesson summary
In this short activity, students will undertake a nature-based mindfulness practice, exploring their connection to nature and allowing for present-moment focus. This activity is designed to connect students to natural alignment with a focus on awareness, posture, breathing, relaxation and balance, preparing them for effective engagement and focus in class. This activity has been designed to ‘punctuate’ the day. You can use it before, during or after your class.
Learning intentions:
Students will...
- create enhanced focus, emotional regulation, empathy and happiness through connection with nature.
- cultivate present-moment awareness so that calm, considered and conscious choices can begin to replace impulsive, unconscious reactions.
- engage in hands-on direct contact with the natural world.
