In light of the sentiment above, this lesson guides you and your group in thinking about and planning for your social action project.

Identify each task to be carried out as part of your social action project. Some of the things you might need to do are:

Gain a better understanding of the social issue (online research/ask an expert, etc.)
Think about websites that could be used for the action being taken (e.g. GetUp!, Change.org)
Figure out how to obtain the resources needed
Seek any permissions required (school/parents/class, etc.)
Identify any rehearsal required and allocate time for it
Plan to record action taken using film/photography (This is important so that you can display your achievements later!)
Identify letters/information etc that needs to be written

If you're planning on an event, you will also need to decide on the dates, times, etc.

Once the actions have been listed, allocate them to individuals in your group, estimate the time they’ll take, and allocate specific time in which to carry out the tasks.

2. Time to plan ahead a little! At the completion of your social action project, you'll be showcasing what you have learned throughout this unit. Your project - large or small - is really important! What you learn by planning and carrying it out is equally important. Therefore you're going to exhibit what you experienced and learned to people who are external to your class.

Have a think about who you would like to invite to your presentation/showcase event, and list their names and organisations here:
Discuss with your class and teacher how best to contact the people on your list to invite them to your event, and the details of the invitation including date, time and location. Note the details here so that you can remember them.
