Lesson Summary
In this lesson, students will explore the question ‘What kind of world do we live in?’ They will view pictures and videos that prompt them to think about the interactions between people, animals and the environment and the impact of our choices and actions. In doing so, students will develop their awareness of significant world issues relating to sustainability, the environment and animal welfare.
Learning intentions
Students will:
- identify factors that make our world great and those which are negative or concerning
- understand that the needs of people, animals and the environment are linked
Success criteria
Students can:
- explain things about our world that are positive
- explain things about our world that are negative or concerning
- explain what the terms 'animal,' 'people' and 'environment' refer to
- explain how the needs of animals, people and the environment are interconnected
