Students consider the role of the different sectors of the economy – government, producers and consumers – in managing plastic waste. They begin by reviewing their knowledge of the impact of plastic waste on the ocean, before looking at examples of actions for addressing waste from around the world. They then select one idea and think about how it could be applied in an Australian context, either at a national, state or local level. Students then develop a pitch to share their ideas with an audience.
