Developed in partnership with the film Dying To Live, this 9 & 10 Mathematics unit has been designed to assist students in understanding a real world issue through mathematical modelling.
In this unit, students will explore the issues and statistics associated with organ donation and transplantation. They will follow the stories of individuals from the documentary film Dying to Live and use various statistical methods to investigate real-world problems related to organ donation and transplantation. Students will also create visual representations to communicate their findings and recommendations to improve organ donation rates and outcomes.
Cool Australia, Aquarius Productions and Intrinsic Story would like to acknowledge the generous contributions of GoodPitch² Australia, Shark Island Institute, and Documentary Australia Foundation in the development of these teaching resources."
