Encouraging Positive Climate Action and Awareness

SecondaryYear 9 - 10EnglishScienceHumanities and Social SciencesEnvironmentalClimate Change

Go to

This unit is designed for Year 9 and 10 students to participate in Earth Hour, where they will learn about climate change in engaging ways. Students will investigate how climate change impacts ecosystems and wildlife in Australia and worldwide. They will study ways to save energy and care for the environment, discovering practical actions they can take at school, at home, and in their communities. Through these activities, students will better understand environmental challenges and learn how they can make a positive difference by making informed choices to help our planet.

Earth Hour is a WWF-Australia initiative and the world’s largest community-driven climate change campaign. At its centre is switching off lights to show a commitment to action. Thousands of teachers use Earth Hour’s education program to enrich their curriculum and provide pathways for young people to create change in their world.

Tune In

Students will discover the history of climate change, and its impacts on our oceans and weather.
