Lesson summary

This lesson explores key themes showcased in the AFLW ‘Player Stories’ vlog-doc: â€˜A New Hero – Sabrina Frederick-Traub’. In this lesson the journeys of Sabrina, her coach, and young AFLW players lead students into an exploration of their own knowledge and understanding of equality. Using a Y-chart, students frame their understanding of equality. They consider examples of inequality and conceptualise how to build bridges to equality. Students then identify the impacts of equality and inequality on well-being, and reflect on aspects of Sabrina’s experience that can be applied to ensure equality in their own lives and the lives of people around them.
