The lesson plans are designed to accompany the feature documentary "2040" and explore real-world solutions to climate change such as sustainable transport, food security, and alternative energy sources. The teaching resources are designed to guide students through projects where they will consolidate and extend learning from any of the other lessons in the "2040" units. The lessons are immersive and focused on food security, urban agriculture, energy, and liveability. The goal is to help students understand the key factors threatening future food security, recognise a range of proposed solutions to the potential future food security crisis, understand what urban agriculture is and how it can help address food security, understand how energy affects our environment, and understand how our environment affects liveability.
2040 is proudly distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Madman Entertainment. The Schools Version includes an educational license, allowing you to play it in class as a learning tool or even host on-site screenings for your school community.
Cool.org, GoodThing Productions and Regen Pictures would like to acknowledge the generous contributions of Good Pitch Australia, Shark Island Institute, Documentary Australia Foundation, The Caledonia Foundation and our philanthropic partners in the development of these teaching resources.
